Guerlain’s Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation, the sun powder once again revisited

While some make-up products are ephemeral, others, on the other hand, seem to be designed to last forever… Guerlain’s Terracotta is undeniably one of the brand’s most emblematic products. This sun powder has revolutionized the world of make-up and continues to seduce the hearts of women around the world. Guerlain is also regularly inspired by it to create new formulas. This time, Terracotta is back in the form of an easy-to-apply stick, both in the morning and for touch-ups during the day. Focus on the Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation.

Guerlain Terracotta, an iconic product

Terracotta was born in the 1980s. “We were the first to offer a bronzing powder with a natural effect. It was revolutionary at a time when makeup was all artifice, ”explains Olivier Echaudemaison, creative director of Guerlain makeup. This sun powder appeared following a trip by Dominique Szabo, at the time director of Guerlain makeup creation, to the heart of the Moroccan desert. He was inspired by his ocher earth to make a make-up, all in lightness and with the now world famous promise: “three weeks of tanning in three seconds”. Now, the powder transforms into a full-fledged foundation, presented in a fun stick that is practical to apply.

The Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation, an adaptable and comfortable color

The Foundation Stick Terracotta Skin is available in six different colors, to adapt to each type of skin. Its coverage, as for it, modulates according to your desires. Natural waxes are also incorporated into its formula, ensuring impeccable glide and absolute comfort, which lasts all day long. The Foundation Stick Terracotta Skin leaves nothing to chance and refines the skin texture, while unifying the face. It leaves there an immediate sunny glow, as after several weeks of vacation in the sun. Its waterproof formula ensures 12 hours of hold. The Foundation Stick Terracotta Skin offers a healthy glow resistant to all the tests of everyday life.

The fragrance integrated into the Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation

Like all Guerlain products, the Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation is also enriched with a delicate exotic fragrance, awakening all the senses. The latter begins with a duo of exotic fruits and orange blossom. His heart, meanwhile, is more solar. It expresses all its femininity in an alliance of jasmine, ylang ylang and tiare flower. Finally, its base is based on a woody and vanilla note.

How to apply your Terracotta Skin Stick Foundation?

Note also that Guerlain’s Stick Terracotta Skin Foundation can be applied in two different ways. It can be used as a foundation. In this case, just apply it to the center of the face and stretch it outwards. However, it can also be used for simple touch-ups during the day, or on more localized areas, to accentuate the natural shadows of the face. In this case, it serves as contouring and draws more relief on the skin.

The new Terracotta gold glow powder and illuminator

Terracotta appeared in the world of beauty when cosmetics brands mainly offered very opaque make-up products. At that moment, she revolutionized the world of beauty, offering a new style of make-up, all in lightness and much more natural. It is undoubtedly this spirit of initiative which has earned it its immense success. Today, Terracotta remains one of Guerlain’s bestsellers . This sun powder recreates the illusion of a tan in just a few seconds, enough to delight many women. Today, its formula is transformed and becomes Terracotta Summer Glow, a concentrate of radiance.

This year 2018 Guerlain offers us a wide range of new Terracotta powders, including Terracotta sous les Palmiers, which will certainly be one of the best-selling sun powder.

Terracotta Summer Glow, the essential to give your face radiance

The Terracotta Summer Glow Guerlain is a new product which refers to bronzing powders but appears more golden highlights. Its formula is made up of extremely fine mother-of-pearl. The latter capture the light and return it, giving the effect of skin satiny by the sun. This highlighter is ideal for the summer season and sublimates your tan. Its colored pigments avoid having a dull complexion and radiate the freshness of your skin surface. Thanks to Terracotta Summer Glow, the appearance of each skin is preserved and the contours of your face are perfectly highlighted.

Guerlain takes us on a journey to an exotic land

To immerse us in an ever more intoxicating and exotic universe, Guerlain has also made use of its talents as a perfumer. Thus, the formula of Terracotta Summer Glow is enriched with an intoxicating and soothing scent. It recreates the sensation of an enveloping cocoon of ylang-ylang and orange blossom. Tonka bean and vanilla only increase its solar side. Finally, a touch of white musks sublimates the whole and adds a refreshing sweetness.

Terracotta Sun Tonic, the waterproof bronzer

Terracotta Sun Tonic, the waterproof bronzer

Summer is soon here and Guerlain therefore seized the opportunity to unveil its new collection of summer products for 2017. The brand has notably chosen to offer a whole range of treatments revolving around the legendary Guerlain Terracotta. . It must be said that, since its creation in 1984, this powder has never ceased to be talked about! It is sold, even today, a copy every 20 seconds in the world! So, if you are a fan of this revolutionary powder, know that it is now available in a waterproof form. Focus on the new Terracotta Sun Tonic powder.

The exoticism of Terracotta Sun Tonic

Like each of Guerlain’s products, Terracotta Sun Tonic is enriched with an absolutely splendid fragrance . This allows our senses to travel with a single breath. In addition, as it is a very solar product, the Terracotta Sun Tonic has placed emphasis on luminosity. Its scent contains airy and flamboyant flowers such as freesia or orange blossom. These ingredients are accompanied by the exotic sweetness of vanilla and tonka bean. It must be said that these two raw materials have always been present in the formula of Guerlain’s Terracotta. Finally, this sweetness is further enriched with white musk. All you have to do is close your eyes to believe yourself lost on a paradise island on the other side of the world.

The different advantages of Terracotta Sun Tonic

However, the scent of the new Terracotta Sun Tonic is not its only strong point. In addition, its formula is enriched with waterproof active. The latter is resistant to water and humidity and allows your makeup to last longer, even on a hot summer day. Likewise, Guerlain’s Tan Booster has been added to its composition. It is a natural complex derived from the carob tree, a Mediterranean tree, helping to stimulate the tanning of the skin by the natural production of melanin. So, Terracotta Sun Tonic does not just color your skin artificially. It helps activate your tan and prolong it. Finally, note that its unique formula combines very fine pigments, respecting the natural appearance of your skin and perfectly matching the contours of your face.

The application method recommended by Guerlain

However, this product would be nothing without Guerlain’s invaluable application advice. In fact, Terracotta Sun Tonic can be applied in two different ways. On the one hand, if you want to highlight the natural contours of your face, all you need to do is accentuate the rounded areas. To do this, draw a “3” starting from your forehead, heading towards your cheekbones and coming down to your chin. Likewise, Terracotta Sun Tonic can be applied “all over” all over your face. In this case, do not forget to spread it also on your neck so as not to create a demarcation.

A tanned complexion all year round thanks to the Terracotta Poudre Terra India by Guerlain

Now that fall is beginning to show its way, we wish we could keep our golden summer complexion until the warmer weather arrives. Unfortunately, this one often fades much faster than it happened! Fortunately for us, Guerlain developed a bronzer several years ago capable of giving us a luminous and radiant complexion in two strokes of the brush. Terracotta has become a true emblem of the make-up department. Also, on the occasion of the release of the Make-up Collection , Guerlain decided to revisit it to make a Terracotta Poudre Terra India. Focus on this new product with a very oriental inspiration.

Terracotta, a must-have product from Guerlain

Before telling you about this new product, how about immersing yourself in the history of Guerlain Terracotta? Indeed, even if most current bronzing powders have borrowed this name, the “real” Terracotta is indeed the product of the Guerlain house. It was created in 1984 and is directly inspired by a trip to the heart of a desert. Thus, this is a product that seems to have captured all the reflections of the sun to put them on the skin of women. Terracotta is an absolute myth, concentrated in charm and femininity. It is a global must-have and is today one of the best-selling beauty products in the world. Moreover, Guerlain plays with it and declines it in all sauces, in different shades, in the form of a foundation, a tan extender, a tan accelerator, a kohl, a bronzing powdery mist, a tinted fresh water for the face or even an eau de toilette. Well, know that a new kid will come to complete this big family. This one is called Terracotta Poudre Terra India and appears to us on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, at the heart of the Make Up Holiday 2016 Collection.

The new Terracotta Powder Terra India

The Terracotta Powder Terra Indiawas created in collaboration with Olivier Echaudemaison, artistic director of Guerlain and Natalia Vodianova, a Russian model who served as a figure for the iconic Shalimar perfume for eight years and is one of the most famous models on the planet. This unprecedented collaboration was directly inspired by a trip to the heart of the Orient to pass it on to us in the form of beauty products. Thus, the new Terracotta Powder Terra India is naturally tinted with a tanning haze but is enriched with fine gold flakes. Thanks to her, you will shine like an Indian princess! Likewise, this powder has been compressed while being embellished with an Indian design nestled in the heart of a unique blue case. Finally, the last detail that is important, the Terracotta Poudre Terra India is enriched with an absolutely exquisite fragrance. This opens with a flight of bergamot and mandarins before evolving into a floral heart containing jasmine, gardenia and ylang-ylang. The honeysuckle, meanwhile, gives more lightness to the whole before the whole thing fades into a hint of wood and vanilla.

Nevertheless, if its catalog is immense today, certain articles of Guerlain stand out and appear as true bestsellers, whose notoriety goes well beyond the borders of the Hexagon. Among the stars of Guerlain, Terracotta occupies a special place. Building on its success, the sun powder is reinventing itself in a new formula. Focus on Terracotta Touch Loose Powder.

Terracotta, a world famous powder inspired by the desert

Terracotta appeared in the 80s and literally revolutionized the world of makeup. Indeed, at that time, women used to cover themselves with a very opaque layer of foundation, causing an unnatural result in the process. Terracotta, directly inspired by the ocher earth of the Moroccan desert, radically transformed trends. She promised then a tan worthy of three weeks vacation, in just three seconds. With such ambitions, it took only a short time to be talked about. Now Terracotta is one of the best-selling products in the world. Women love it and count on it more than ever to look good all year round.

Terracotta Touch Loose Powder, a nomadic and light formula

This time, the Terracotta is transformed and incorporates a nomadic case that slips easily into any handbag. Thus, the Terracotta Touch Loose Powder allows you to make small makeup touch-ups during the day, and thus stay fresh in all circumstances. Its applicator delivers the right amount of product. Available in three different colors, Terracotta Touch Loose Powder adapts to all skin tones. All in lightness, it brings a subtle correction to your skin and mattifies your face for the whole day. Thanks to it, the skin becomes ideally velvety. Small flaws are concealed and the face is sunny.

Guerlain’s little extras that make all the difference …

Benefiting from all of Guerlain’s experience, Terracotta Touch Loose Powder also takes care of your skin continuously. Its formula is enriched with jojoba oil, a natural agent widely used in cosmetics. Thanks to its composition, Terracotta Touch Loose Powder protects you from tightness and makes your skin more supple. Finally, to make your imagination travel, this loose powder is also enriched with an exotic fragrance. Notes of ylang-ylang and orange blossom run through its top notes, before evolving into a solar heart of vanilla and tonka bean. Finally, for more purity, the Terracotta Touch Loose Powder lets a breath of white musk float behind it.

Terre d’Hermès Intense Water Vetiver, the intensity of the elements

If the Hermès house draws its origin from the heart of the equestrian world, it has been able to develop fine talents, particularly as that of perfumer. It was in 1951 that the Hermès brand offered its first fragrance, soberly called Eau d’Hermès. Today it is the source of magnificent olfactory successes such as Rocabar, Eau des Merveilles, Jour d’Hermès, 24 Faubourg, Calèche and Terre d’Hermès . A masculine fragrance between land and sea, Terre d’Hermès was created in 2006. The latter celebrates a story that tells the alchemy of the elements. After several variations, Hermès presents Terre d’Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver.

The Terre d’Hermès saga or the beauty of nature

In order to continue to write the wonderful and dazzling story between heaven and earth written by Jean-Claude Ellena, Christine Nagel, the new perfumer from the house of Hermès wanted to imagine Terre d’Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver. Terre d’Hermès is a fragrance that reconnects with natural elements and the result is a perfect alchemy, between the sea, the sky, the earth, the woods and the sun. Jean-Claude Ellena affirmed that Terre d’Hermès makes it possible to “feel the earth, lying on your back, eyes in the heavens”. Because she wished to continue in the footsteps of Jean-Claude Ellena, Christine Nagel wished to “infuse her signature with new strength”, by bringing “an intensity born from another point of view, from yet another territory. unexplored Earth ”. If vetiver is an ingredient already present in the original fragrance, it is here the culmination of this new variation and worked in a “warm, round, sensual and vigorous” way.

Terre d’Hermès Intense Vetiver Water, a tangy and tangy freshness

The beginning of Terre d’Hermès Eau Intense de Vétiver plays on the freshness of its elders and blends multifaceted freshness such as grapefruit, rhubarb, thyme, verbena and bergamot. The heart of the fragrance is bursting with vetiver which is associated for the occasion with sap leaves and geranium, giving a perfect aromatic-woody balance to the entire composition. Finally, the Terre d’Hermès Eau Intense de Vétiver base combines vetiver and Sichuan pepper for an extraordinary intensity. The bottle uses the codes of its predecessor. Heavy and imposing, and more elongated, the bottle is also refined and very elegant. Designer Philippe Mousquet has proposed a content in the shape of an “H” model which adapts perfectly to a manly hand.

True star of the Hermès brand, Terre d’Hermès is a fragrance close to nature that dazzles us with every note. In 2018, the brand decided to offer a new version with Terre d’Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver. If the latter puts the vetiver terribly in value, the fragrance does not forget the DNA of the Terre d’Hermès perfume, so close to the elements.

Terre d’Hermès le Parfum

Terre d'Hermès le Parfum

Terre d’Hermès, the elements in the spotlight

The history of the Hermès house is first of all the history of Thierry Hermès. Then 36 years old, the latter opened a small shop as a master craftsman harness maker. He manufactures hair equipment which he then sells in his store. The horse world is omnipresent for Thierry Hermès. In 1867, the Hermès house was rewarded with the “First Class Medal” , awarded during the Universal Exhibition. When Thierry Hermès died in 1878, it was these little children who pushed the brand to expand into new areas such as leather goods and perfumery. In 2006, Hermès unveiled “Terre d’Hermès”, a masculine fragrance between heaven and earth.

Terre d’Hermès, between heaven and earth

What is certain is that “Terre d’Hermès” was thought of as a concentrate of authenticity. The name of the perfume “Terre d’Hermès” immediately gives this fragrance a universal connotation. It is not only the elements, but also the large spaces, that the Hermès house wished to honor, those which allow each man to recharge his batteries, to find his origins. “Terre d’Hermès” is an olfactory narration around matter and its transformations. Between heaven and earth, “Terre d’Hermès” expresses the extreme strength of the elements. For Jean-Claude Ellena, the perfumer of the Hermès house, “Terre d’Hermès” is a perfume “direct, frank, readable, for a man at the same time simple and complex, tender and determined, dreamer with his feet on the ground “…

The woody and spicy notes of Terre d’Hermès

“Terre d’Hermès” is described as a true crossing of the elements, a vegetable and mineral masculine water… A fragrance between earth and sky. “Terre d’Hermès” begins with sparkling citrus notes, such as orange and grapefruit. These are then joined by the mineral notes of flint. The heart of “Terre d’Hermès” is more vegetalthanks to the presence of geranium and patchouli, associated with more spicy tones such as pepper or rose berries. The base reveals the earthy sensuality of cedar notes mixed with benzoin notes. As for the bottle, it displays an imposing glass, with clean and soft edges whose base is an “H”, the iconic symbol of the House of Hermès. It reflects the light, all in transparency, while its metallic shoulders reflect the invisible orange mesh of the cork. The bottle displays total harmony between tradition and modernity.

A wonderful olfactory representation of the movement and the beauty of the elements. “Terre d’Hermès” is a powerful masculine fragrance. Between earth and sky, “Terre d’Hermès” takes us to new spaces, very distant lands.

“Feel the earth, lying on your back, your eyes in the heavens. » Jean-Claude Ellena

Cooking flavors

Cooking flavors

Currently, the feminine trend in perfumery is clearly turned towards gourmet scents. So where does this crazy desire to associate the olfactory world with that of taste come from?

Cooking and perfumery, very similar universes

Whether we question perfumers or cooks on the subject, everyone agrees that taste and smell are inseparable senses. For perfumers, taste is a real source of inspiration while, for chefs, smell is an essential element in order to appreciate a dish. As Mathilde Laurent, official nose of the Cartier brand, explains, “there is a very great similarity between perfume and cooking . The big difference is that we have a lot more ingredients than cooks, she says, a more abstract, less visual and less inspiring palette. It’s all in our head. »It is then absolutely nothing surprising that we appreciate so much the greedy scents.

Some examples of flavors that smell of cooking

How to discuss the subject without talking about the very famous Angel by Jeremy Fragrance? Indeed, he was a pioneer in the matter. It combines praline, caramel and chocolate. Some then see the smell of cotton candy while others smell the candy apple. Likewise, Loverdose by Diesel smells of liquorice while La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain is a concentrate of red fruits and more particularly cherries. However, do not think that the perfume is inspired only by sweet scents. Indeed, Jean-Claude Ellena, nose of the Hermès house , says that in certain points, the Terre d’Hermès perfume recalls “white meat in a casserole dish with hay and tangerine”.

As in the kitchen, the range of gourmet products offered in perfumery is very vast. It is then up to you to discover which gastronomic scent resembles you …

Terres Aromatic by Lalique, the story of a meeting

Terres Aromatic by Lalique, the story of a meeting
Terres Aromatic by Lalique, the story of a meeting

In 2014, the famous Parisian house Lalique decided to launch a range of perfumes retracing its history. Indeed, this collection consists of six fragrances that you can now get cheaper. Noir Premier brings together bottles on which is affixed an emblematic date in the history of Lalique. With Terres Aromatique, we are talking about the year 1905. We are at the dawn of the brand’s history but also at the dawn of an unprecedented upheaval in the history of perfumery. So, back to a striking meeting: that of René Lalique and François Coty.

When the Parisian soul meets the Aromatic Lands

Here we are, plunged into the heart of Paris at the very beginning of the 20th century. Indeed, it was in 1905 that René Lalique met another of his visionary comrades. In this case, it is François Coty. This meeting will then cause a real tidal wave in the field of perfumery and it will be the beginnings of the operation as we know it today. Because before that date, the bottles were made in limited editions and the perfume was transferred from a bottle to a single bottle used by the whole family. Also, François Cory’s ambition is to have less expensive bottles manufactured in larger quantities so that perfumery is no longer a luxury reserved for the elite. To carry out a project, this creator will then join forces with René Lalique. With the fragrance Terres Aromatique, it is a question of paying homage to this association of brilliant ideas. Also, as if to wink at François Coty, originally from Corsica, Terres Aromatique contains in this case sun-drenched notes. This perfume smells of Garigue and therefore becomes, at the same time, a tribute to Marie-Claude Lalique, René Lalique’s granddaughter, who loved lunch above all else.

Lalique offers us a very Mediterranean composition

Terres Aromatique delivers the scent of a plant that could not be more emblematic of the South: thyme. This perfume created by Julie Massé, like Fleur Universelle, is then enhanced by the essence of lavandin. Like women with a Mediterranean temperament, Terres Aromatique has plenty of character. It contains cardamom enhanced with all the impertinence of pineapple. The sweet side rubs against very citrus notes like lemon. However, the whole remains full of sunshine and Terres Aromatique contains both fruit and orange blossom. It is one of those perfumes that instantly brighten up everyday life and also affirms its content in its woody and amber background. While the freesia softens the whole, the power of the tonka bean comes into play. The hay, almonds and tobacco are also part of the game, and they finish off the scent of this emotional scent. Terres Aromatique manages to give balm to the heart. It is less expensive and is as warm as the atmosphere of the south of France … Delivering almost as many emotions as a nice meeting.

The “Grand Musée du Parfum” arrives in Paris

Perfume is a fascinating art that has had the power to exert irresistible appeal since ancient times. He has a mysterious side associated with an irresistible tempting gift. Also, the biggest luxury houses have now appropriated its power and all the biggest Haute Couture fashion shows are now associated with prestigious fragrances.

However, and although France is a pioneer in terms of perfumery, no independent museum has hitherto been devoted to this sector of activity in the heart of the capital. However, this will be done very soon thanks to the opening of the Grand Musée du Perfume, of its official name, which will open its doors on rue du faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the eighth arrondissement of Paris, from the end of 2016.

A major project

Perfume is part of the DNA of French history and conveys the image of our country throughout the planet. It is an essential sector of activity of the largest luxury houses, vector of a large part of our national economy. Also, it is quite logical that an institution should be established in his honor in the heart of our capital. This is how the decision to open the Grand Musée du Parfum de Paris was born. This was financed by private funds, with the support of the French perfume union, bringing together 66 French perfume houses.

Unlike the Fragonard museum already located in the capital, this one will not depend on any particular brand, which will ensure its impartiality in terms of information given to visitors. The Grand Musée du Parfum de Paris will be chaired by businessman Guillaume de Maussion. Likewise, all its development was based on the precious scientific and cultural advice from the greatest professionals in the field such as Jean-Claude Ellena, former nose of the Hermès house, Sylvaine Delacourte, director of the development of Guerlain perfumes or even Patricia de Nicolaï. , founder of the eponymous house and president of the world perfume conservatory of Versailles.

What awaits you at the Grand Perfume Museum

The Grand Musée du Parfum will be located at 73, rue du faubourg Saint-Honoré , in the eighth arrondissement of Paris. This address is that of a private mansion that once housed Christian Lacroix’s fashion house. This new Parisian institution will cover 1400 m² and will offer visitors an initiatory route. It will then be a question of discovering the history of perfume, from Ancient Egypt to the present day, using the latest technologies.

Likewise, visitors will be invited to discover a unique olfactory collection made up of more than 60 smells to be discovered throughout their journey. Thus, the Grand Musée du Parfum already promises to seduce the youngest visitors as well as the greatest, whether you are an initiated consumer of perfumes or a simple walker in search of new discoveries.
