To evoke the Eaux de Cologne of yesteryear, Thierry Wasser, official perfumer of Guerlain, chose to start his composition with an alliance of bergamot, a rosé accord and a greener breath. The galbanum, meanwhile, here adds a herbaceous scent to this composition, while illuminating orange blossom. The timeless elegance of this fragrance is indisputable. His recipe finally ends with a touch well known to perfumers: that linked to the purity of white musks.
The art of flaconnage according to Guerlain
Finally, the Cologne du Parfumeur also honors all of Guerlain’s mastery of flaconnage. Its bottle is the result of techniques carefully acquired over the decades. Here, it is a modern reinterpretation of the mythical bee bottle by Guerlain, originally designed for the Eau de Cologne Impériale in 1853 for the Empress Eugenie. The Cologne du Parfumeur comes in a cylindrical bottle, covered with many bees, a symbol of royalty under the Old Kingdom. The Guerlain house is one of the oldest and most famous of our French heritage. It was born in 1828 and today has a particularly rich heritage. Thus, even if Guerlain continues to evolve with the times, the brand always tries to keep its history in memory. However, it is precisely this timeless blend that we find in the brand new Cuvée Secrète from Guerlain. This Eau de Cologne is halfway between the origins of Guerlain and our contemporary era for a particularly fresh look.
Guerlain and the tradition of Eaux de Cologne
There was a time when Eau de Cologne was considered to be the perfume of the bourgeoisie. It was therefore essential to know how to work this one in order to rank among the great perfumers. In fact, it was in 1853 that Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain produced the Eau de Cologne Impériale for the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.

The Guerlain formula is dosed very precisely here. The whole thing reveals an unprecedented harmony mainly revolving around three ingredients. In addition, the scent of La Cuvée Secrète begins with a fresh breath of bergamot, fruit resulting from the cross between lemon and sour orange. Lavender, for its part, brings here a more aromatic and Provençal aspect. Moreover, this Mediterranean aspect is further reinforced by the solar presence of petit grain. The return of the perfumes of yesteryear

Like the previous part of La Diva, La Diva Mon Amour was made by perfumer Marie Salamagne. Its start is particularly fruity.
In this case, La Diva Mon Amour dares an association of tangy raspberry and a Mediterranean mandarin. The juicy pear of yore, on the other hand, has been replaced with a hint of black currant. The whole is both fresh and delicious, without falling into the overkill of greed. Then, La Diva Mon Amour suddenly switches to more femininity. Its heart contains in particular the queen flower of feminine perfumery: the rose. This is associated with freesia, a white flower reminiscent of the recipe of its predecessor.
Nevertheless, the gluttony of La Diva Mon Amour is not ruled out. Indeed, liquorice plays a large part in this composition. Its sweetness is further enhanced by the presence of tonka bean and Peruvian balsam in its wake. Musk brings more sensitivity to the whole.
